STATUS: ALPHA
ERA: PRE-CU
Welcome to the Haven!Server Features

Elder Haven is a Pre-CU server inspired by Morrowind and older RPGs. I wanted quests and character growth to mean something here. You start small, explore, get to know recurring characters and work your way through longer stories. Some of those stories let you take charge of a group and unlock more things to do. That's the idea I'll keep building the server around.

Insight / Prestige

You earn Insight through combat, crafting, harvesting, entertaining, bounty hunting and quests, then spend choices on your attributes. Each cycle gives you 360 earned choices. An Insight Master can reset it through Prestige, giving you 100 stored choices per rank to start again with, up to Prestige 5. The Prestige cap will eventually be increased, based on player feedback and server progression.

Grand Master System

Once you've mastered an eligible profession, you can spend more XP with a Grand Master Teacher for extra skill points. You can do this once for each eligible profession, which gives you room to learn and combine more professions.

Questlines and faction leadership

The questlines follow the same characters over time. You start by doing work for a group and can eventually become its leader, much like faction quests in Morrowind. That includes becoming leader of the Mandalorians or a Lord or Lady of the Underworld.

Adaptive Weapons & Weaponsmith Changes

Adaptive Weapons gain levels as you fight, up to Level 5000. Along the way they produce crafting materials. Weaponsmiths can use those Fragments and Cores to make weapons much stronger than normal crafting allows.

The Jedi path

Master professions, explore and complete An Echo in the Sand, the custom quest that replaces the old themepark requirement. From there you continue through Force Sensitive training and the Padawan Trials, without waiting for Village phases.

Prestige Missions

Mission terminals have a separate P0-P5 selector that makes the usual enemies much stronger, even beyond the highest normal difficulty. Higher tiers give more Insight XP and credits, and can be a real challenge for developed characters.

Professions, tapes & defenses

You can master all standard combat professions and add attachment bonuses across the pieces you wear. The old +25 equipment-bonus cap is gone, and high defenses use diminishing returns. Jedi has its own profession path.

A few changes to everyday play

Professions progress faster, you can carry four terminal missions at once and request them by direction, and travel involves less waiting. These changes give you more time to actually play.

What comes next

There's more I want to add as alpha goes on: custom stories, encounters, mission objectives, systems and rewards. An Elder Haven launcher is also planned for future client content and easier updates.

Your First StepsNew Player Guide

Use the connection guide to add Elder Haven to your login list. There's no separate registration: launch the game, enter your chosen username and password, and log in. Your account is created automatically.

Once you're in, here's where to start:

  1. Open your Insight System journal. Your starting attributes are low, and Insight is how you build them up.
  2. Visit an Assist Droid for starter help and buffs.
  3. Look for (Weakling) creatures around a starter city. They help you earn your first Insight levels.
  4. Spend choices in your journal on Health, Action or Mind. Active buffs update as you spend them; here's how Insight affects buffs.
  5. Train professions, take missions and try the questlines. Crafting, harvesting, entertaining and bounty work also give Insight.
  6. Visit a Grand Master Teacher after mastering an eligible profession. More profession XP can give you extra skill points to learn other professions.

Start with normal missions and increase mission Prestige as you get stronger. Once you've earned 360 choices, you can visit an Insight Master if you want to Prestige.

You can find alpha announcements, ask for setup help and report bugs on Discord.
